SUN LAKES WEATHER
Sun Lakes Weather...
What to expect in Summer, Fall, Winter, and
Spring
Sun Lakes enjoys well over 300 days
of sunshine each year!
Summer – mid June through mid September – Expect lots
of sunshine in June nearly every single day with daytime temps in
the low 100’s, single digit humidity, and nighttime temps in the 70
– 80 degree range. The low humidity makes the evening hours through
morning hours quite pleasant! July is our hottest month with daytime
temps in the 105 – 115 range. We enjoy plenty of sunshine in July,
and as we approach mid month, we start to see signs of the impending
monsoon season in the form of afternoon clouds, thunderstorms, and
increased humidity. While August posts cooler temps and more cloudy
days than July, it typically feels much warmer due to the higher
humidity levels and frequent thunderstorms. September signals the
end of the humidity and thunderstorms, and the sunshine returns. The
cooler evenings and early morning hours with daytime temps in the
low 100’s, are much like the month of June.
Fall – mid September through mid December – Expect lots of sunshine
with very low humidity nearly every single day! October brings
daytime temps in the 90’s in the beginning of the month, to daytime
temps in the 80’s by the end of the month. Due to the low humidity,
you can count on evening to early morning hours to be 25 – 30
degrees cooler than the day! November and December is “prime time”
in Sun Lakes with daytime temps in the 70 – 80 degree range in
November, and 60 – 75 degrees in December. Sunny days with low
humidity are the norm, with occasional mild nighttime freezes by the
end of December. Expect occasional Fall storms to bring rain to the
area, but these storms tend to last no more than a day or two, and
are replaced by brilliant sunshine and mild temps.
Winter – mid December through mid March – Expect plenty of sunshine
days with daytime temps in the 60 – 70 degree range, and nighttime
temps cool enough for a light jacket or sweater, with occasional
mild nighttime freezes. A hard freeze below 27 degrees is rare.
Winter rainstorms passing through the area bring cloudy skies and
temps in the 50’s, but they tend to last only a day or two. By
February, temps are creeping up and new growth starts showing on the
bushes and trees. March is delightful with plenty of sunshine, and
daytime temps in the 70 – 80 degree range. Occasional Spring-like
showers occur in March, but rarely do they last more than a day.
Spring – mid March through Mid June – Expect lots of sunshine and
single digit humidity from April through June! April will bring
daytime temps in the 75 – 85 degree range, and May is a little
warmer with temps in the 80 – 90 degree range. By the middle of May
we will have likely hit our first 100 degree day, but those temps
typically don’t become “every day” until Late May and early June.
The low humidity makes the evening hours through the morning hours
quite pleasant!
From mid September to mid June, Sun Lakes residents can boast that
they enjoy 9 continuous months of awesome weather. There aren’t very
many places in the U.S. that can make that claim! For more
